What's the Benefits of using PIR and PIR-insulated sandwich panels in agriculture?
Agricultural industrial buildings require fast construction, low costs and trouble-free operation for at least 20 years.
Today's market conditions place special demands on the energy efficiency of such buildings. Since most of the heat or cold losses occur in the building envelope, this directly leads to increased energy costs and, therefore, production costs.
The storage of fruits and vegetables has strict requirements for temperature and humidity. For example, potatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers are stored at a temperature of 0 to +8°C. And this temperature condition should be maintained at all times.
It is necessary to build sealed greenhouses and control or transform low-oxygen environments to prevent product deterioration. In this way, the cold storage life of the product will be extended from 2-3 months to 6-8 months.
In addition, the final cost of the product is affected by the initial production costs. To reduce costs, less building materials are used. Therefore, agricultural buildings should be built of lightweight and durable materials with low thermal conductivity.
The processing of meat, fish, vegetables and fruit requires an environment that is as clean as possible. Sandwich panels are moisture-resistant: they are chemically inert and biologically stable. They do not decay over time. They are resistant to both acidic and alkaline environments. It does not rot and is not susceptible to the harmful effects of rodents and insects.
The most important advantage of PUR foam sandwich panels is the sealed joints, which do not require any additional connectors for assembly.
PIR is a flame-retardant polyurethane foam in which the so-called thermosetting polymer is polyisocyanurate. At high temperatures, it prevents the spread of flames. Therefore, using PIR panels, you can build structures with particularly strict requirements for fire protection. This is the first advantage of using PIR insulating sandwich panels in construction.
Using insulating sandwich panels made of polyurethane foam, fruit storage rooms, cold rooms or processing plants can be built in the shortest possible time. The moisture-proof properties of polyurethane foam allow you to install it at any time of the year.
Due to their low weight, PIR panels are easier to handle on the construction site.
