Raw material preparation

Ethylene oxide: Ethylene oxide is the main raw material for the preparation of polyether polyols, and its quality has a great influence on the performance of the final product. Therefore, it is necessary to select ethylene oxide having high purity and low water content.

Starter: Starter is the key raw material in the synthesis of polyether polyol. Commonly used starters include polyols, amines, etc. Different starters affect the molecular structure and properties of polyether polyols.

Catalyst: A catalyst is added during the polymerization reaction to promote the reaction of ethylene oxide with the initiator. Commonly used catalysts are alkaline catalysts and acidic catalysts.

Polymerization reaction

Premixing: The starting agent, catalyst and part of ethylene oxide mixing, stirring evenly.

Polymerization: The premixture is added to the polymerization kettle, the remaining ethylene oxide is introduced, and a certain temperature and pressure are controlled to carry out the polymerization reaction. During the polymerization process, the progress of the reaction needs to be continuously monitored to ensure that the molecular weight and hydroxyl value of the product are in line with expectations.

Post-treatment: After the polymerization reaction, post-treatment is required, including neutralization, dehydration, filtration and other steps, to obtain high-quality polyether polyol products.
