Polyurethane, also known as polyamine formate, polyamine formate,PU,urethane, refers to a class of polymers containing amino formate characteristic units in the main chain, plastic polymers composed of diisocyanate (TDI and MDI) and polyols, known as the "fifth plastic".
What's the features of polyurethane?
It mainly has the dual advantages of rubber and plastic - elasticity, flexibility and durability.
good wear resistance,
good oil resistance,
corrosion resistance,
cold resistance,
aging resistance,
sealing,
sound insulation, etc.
The upstream of the polyurethane industry chain can be divided into isocyanates (including MDI, TDI, etc.), polyester polyols and polyether polyols (including PO, PTMEG, PPG, etc., also known as "white materials") and cosolvents (such as DMF, methyl ethyl ketone and stabilizers, flame retardants, etc.).
The middle reaches of the polyurethane industry chain mainly include two systems: foam system and CASE system.
-- The foam system mainly includes polyurethane rigid foam and soft foam.
rigid foam is mainly used for building wall insulation and waterproof spraying foam, pipe insulation materials, automotive refrigerator and other lining filling;
flexible foam mainly includes various upholstery materials for furniture and vehicles;
--CASE system is mainly used to produce coating, adhesive, sealants and elastomer
Downstream for home, home appliances, transportation, construction, daily necessities and other industries.
What is the primary raw material used to create polyurethane?
-Polyester or polyether: The precursor ingredients for polyurethane, polyester or polyether, must be synthesized in order to create polyurethane.
-Isocyanate: Another precursor to polyurethane, isocyanate is created by reacting diisocyanate with a few different substances.
-Additives: When necessary, flame retardants, colors, crosslinkers, fillers, blowing agents, and surfactants can be added to the PU synthesis process. PU can be transformed into any form with a variety of qualities, including hardness and density, by simply altering the quantity and type of polyols, isocyanates, or additives.
