Casting Polyurethane Elastomer (CPU)
Casting polyurethane elastomer (CPU) refers to a type of polyurethane elastomer produced through the casting process, where liquid resin is cast and reacts to form a shape. Some refer to it as "casting glue." This type of liquid raw material system is also called "liquid rubber." Casting polyurethane elastomer has the following characteristics:
① Liquid raw materials are cast or injected into product molds to react and solidify into shape. It can directly produce large-volume polyurethane rubber products and products with complex shapes;
② The finished products have good comprehensive properties;
③ The formula composition and amount of raw materials can be adjusted to obtain products with different hardness. The range of performance variability is large;
④ For simple manual casting, the equipment investment is small, and processing is convenient;
⑤ It is possible to manufacture small batches or single-piece product prototypes with good flexibility.
Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer (TPU)
TPU is usually granular and has good reprocessability. It can be processed using thermoplastic plastic processing methods such as extrusion, injection molding, calendering, and compression molding. TPU pellets are plasticized and molded at high temperatures into various shaped products or composite products, among which extrusion and injection molding are most widely used, accounting for more than 70%. TPU is also used to manufacture elastic fibers, synthetic leather resins, adhesives, and coatings.
Millable Polyurethane Elastomer (MPU)
Millable polyurethane elastomer (MPU) is the earliest developed type of polyurethane elastomer. Its main processing feature is to first synthesize a solid rubber with stable storage, and then process it using general rubber mixing equipment to obtain a heat-cured network molecular structure polyurethane elastomer. According to the soft segment structure of the main chain, millable polyurethane can be divided into polyester-based and polyether-based types. According to different vulcanizing agents, it is divided into S-vulcanized and DCP-vulcanized rubber.
